The Milford Public Library, located in downtown Milford, Delaware, is preparing for a busy holiday season. The very popular Christmas Tree Extravaganza will run from November 30th to January 2nd. Visitors are encouraged to vote on their favorite tree by a money donation. All monies collected will be given to a local family and selected senior citizens who are experiencing some temporary hardships. Even if you aren't able to donate, you are encourage to enjoy the Christmas ambiance of over a dozen decorated trees placed throughout the library.
The Holiday Bazaar will be held December 1st from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. to coincide with People's Day. The Friends of the Milford Public Library operate the bazaar and offer many new and used items for sale.
Tuesday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. brings the delightful musical sounds of Kevin Hubbard. The classical guitar concert with a touch of jazz will include favorites such as "Malaguena", "Aspirations" and the Christmas songs: Greensleeves (What Child is This) and Silent Night. This is a great way to start off your family holiday season.
Holiday Stroll is by far one of the largest downtown events and the Milford Public Library will be open that night with the Friends of the Library "Coffee Boutique" with sweet treats available on the lower level. The Holiday Bazaar will also be open for any holiday purchases.
Rounding out the season's events is Holiday Hors d'oeuvres on December 12th at 7:00 p.m. The annual demonstration of hors d'oeuvres and canapes will provide tips that are sure to delight your guests during the year's busiest season. Chef Phil from "Looking Glass Restaurant" will host the event. Registration is a necessity as samples will be given and seating is limited.
